Great story! I appreciate the willingness to talk about the not so picturesque parts of hunting.
I have awoken many nights in terror that the deer I shot was in fact a person, in the worst cases someone I know.
I’ve never heard anyone else talk about that…
I love hunting, the thrill of an early morning and all the anticipation and elation that the days in the field bring but there is also an unspoken weight.
And there should be a weight to taking a life.
To eat meat is to kill, and we should want to do that as ethically and with as much respect as possible.
